The Development & Engagement Intern (Intern) assists in all aspects of the Foundation, ensuring a great understanding of non-profit and community foundation management. The Intern joins the Foundation at a pivotal moment in the organization’s history.

In 2024, the Foundation entered year one of a 10-year strategic map, adopting new priorities as grant maker, convener, and community programmer. It continues stewardship efforts of its $8M Bob Crane Community Center Capital Campaign, opened in

Spring 2025. In response to this organization growth, the internship includes tasks related to volunteer management, database integrity, fundraising, stewardship, marketing/communications, and community engagement.

Eligible Candidates

Eligible candidate is a current undergraduate college student; interested in nonprofit management, marketing, communications and/or development. A passion for Upper Arlington is a bonus.

Essential Tasks

Volunteer Management

stewardship activities. Attendance at and administrative support for Board of Trustees meetings; preparation for Board of Trustees participation in

Database Integrity

Assist with implementation of database health check recommendations including, but not limited to, data entry, data cleanup, and data reporting.

Development/Stewardship

Attend donor meetings with Executive Director and/or Community Engagement Manager to steward annual and/or Community Center Capital Campaign support; prepare for and participate in thank you calls and outreach.

Marketing/Communications

Create and recommend 12-month social media marketing calendar; create social media post templates; produce social media content; assist in the development of informational materials; assist with distribution of marketing materials; assist with website content.

Community Engagement

Assist in representing the Foundation at community tabling events; planning for future Fostering a Conversation Series events; assessing the success of Leadership UA 2025; assist with UA Authors Series event

Miscellaneous

Completes special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

150 Hour Stipend: $2,500

Start Date: ASAP; End Date: TBD

Work Space: hybrid in-person and remote position
