A small act of support helps a longtime resident maintain independence and enjoy the outdoors once again

The Foundation recently stepped in to help a 92-year-old resident regain safe and independent access to their home by funding the installation of a mobility ramp. Through its Good Neighbor Fund, UACF covered the full cost of the project, allowing the resident to enter and exit their home without assistance comfortably.

This small but meaningful change reflects the Foundation’s commitment to supporting residents facing critical needs, from mobility and safety upgrades to emergency financial support. The ramp not only improves the resident’s quality of life but also reinforces the community’s dedication to helping neighbors age in place with dignity and care. Allowing this resident to remain active and enjoy the outdoors that they always loved is a powerful reminder that even modest investments can make a lasting impact. Thanks to the generosity of UACF donors, the Good Neighbor Fund continues to remove barriers, both literal and figurative, so that all Upper Arlington residents can live safely, independently, and with dignity in the community they call home.
