Community Dedicates Memorial Fountain Honoring Coach Dale Hartney
On Saturday, August 16 at 2 PM, the community gathered at the Miller Park Library to dedicate a new drinking fountain honoring long-time Upper Arlington resident, teacher, and cross-country coach Dale Hartney.
Thanks to the generosity of many donors, and in partnership with the City of Upper Arlington, the fountain has been installed at Miller Park—Coach Hartney’s favorite turnaround spot during cross-country runs.
This meaningful tribute reflects the deep love and respect Coach Hartney inspired in generations of students, friends, neighbors, and family.
Coach Hartney, who spent nearly 50 years inspiring others—on the court, in the classroom, and during his legendary runs to Miller Park Library—left a lasting impact on the Upper Arlington community. The Foundation is honored to celebrate his legacy with this project.
