Announcing Edwards Green
The Foundation is proud to announce Edwards Green, a beautification initiative enhancing the UA community.
The family of Michael and Phaedra Edwards values beautiful spaces to call home. In line with these principles, they generously gifted green space at Abington and Sherwin to the Foundation in honor of their parents, Peter and Suzie Edwards. The new pocket park, owned and maintained by the Foundation, spans 0.8 acres of land in the Canterbury neighborhood. Features include floral gardens, inviting walking paths, a stacked stone wall, a bench, and a relaxing space to enjoy nature in Upper Arlington. The space opened to the public on October 1, 2024. Michael and Phaedra, Upper Arlington residents, celebrate their parents, Peter and Suzie Edwards, with a gift of greenspace at 2491 Abington Road to be known as Edwards Green. As a young child, Michael and his family lived in their first home on the corner of UA’s Abington and Asbury Roads, overlooking the greenspace.
“This gift celebrates our parents’ love of the outdoors and their commitment to their treasured Upper Arlington community. We hope Edwards Green inspires neighbors to unplug, go outside, and play as we did as children,” says Michael and Phaedra
The space on Abington Road is currently vacant and utilized as a through-way by residents. The reimagined park space brings new life to the surrounding neighborhood.
“We are honored for the opportunity to celebrate the Edwards’ family legacy. We know Edwards Green will serve as a wonderful gathering place for neighbors. This generous gift strengthens our commitment to the beautification of Upper Arlington,” says Foundation Executive Director, Jessica Grisez
