The Senior Care Fund shall be used to help UA residents, age 60 and older, remain safe, healthy and happy as they age in place at home. The Senior Care Fund addresses needs of seniors living at home, including but not limited to, home safety and security improvements, medical equipment and supplies, not covered by insurance, handy repair services for small repairs to maintain safety of home, short-term respite care (non-medical caregiving services to relieve family members), technology to support independent living, meal delivery services, transportation to/from medical appointments, pet care (supplies, veterinary expenses, temporary foster care), home and laundry cleaning services, in-home personal care services (haircuts, nail care). Need to be identified and referred by emergency responders, nonprofit organizations, and/or home care staff. Funds will be prioritized based on financial need and awarded directly to service provider.

Eligibility

Grants are available up to $1,500 per recipient, per year. Applicants may reapply annually. Repeat awards are subject to available funds, demonstrated need, and priority for first-time applicants. This grant is independent of other grant opportunities offered by the UA Community Foundation. Receipt of a Senior Care Fund grant does not guarantee, nor preclude, eligibility for additional Foundation grants.
